ASH Integrated Services Director and Wigan Vice President of Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Chamber of Commerce, Antony Grace, has been appointed as an Enterprise Adviser for Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥.

To further strengthen his commitment to supporting young people in education and business, Antony will work closely with schools and colleges across Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ to bridge the gap between education and the world of work.

This initiative, facilitated by the Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Combined Authority (GMCA) and The Careers & Enterprise Company, connects experienced business leaders with educators to help shape career programmes and provide students with valuable insights into the world of employment.

With over two decades of experience in business, Antony brings a wealth of knowledge and firsthand expertise to the role.

Having founded and successfully grown multiple businesses, he understands both the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship. His journey has not been without setbacks.

In 2009, the financial crisis led to the collapse of his first business, resulting in personal bankruptcy and the loss of his home. This difficult period provided him with invaluable lessons that he now shares with aspiring business leaders to help them make informed decisions and avoid similar hardships.

Through his position as Company Director at and as Wigan Vice President of the Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ Chamber of Commerce, he has continuously championed initiatives that connect businesses with education, ensuring students have access to the skills, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed.

Speaking about his appointment, Antony said: "I’m passionate about helping the next generation navigate the challenges of starting and growing a business. My own experiences have given me a real understanding of what it takes to build something successful, and I want to share those insights with young people so they can make informed choices about their future."

Through this role, Antony will work alongside schools and colleges for a minimum of one year, providing strategic guidance to develop career pathways that align with industry needs.

His contribution will play a key role in shaping the aspirations of young people in Wigan and beyond, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to take their next steps into the working world.

By sharing his expertise, he hopes to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs and professionals, creating a stronger and more resilient future workforce for Greater ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥.
